TOPO SHEET - BLACK / ORANGE

Black / Orange TOPO Sheet

Material: Heavy duty 3M matte vinyl material.

Dimensions:  22"/55cm x 14"/35cm

This is a generic sheet of our Black & Orange Topo pattern. Similar to many of the KTM Topo graphics kits we offer in the Black & Orange.

NOTE: This is a sheet intended for the spots we simply can not create custom templates for. A good example being the side panels for an aftermarket rally tower.

Graphics Installation Instructions

Before you start
Inspect your plastics, if they are scuffed and scratched or have major damage it may be worth looking at replacing them. Before applying the graphics kit your bike needs to be in a reasonable or excellent condition. Remove seat to access all bodywork.

Installation tips
Take your time and be patient and use plenty of water on bike in case you need to adjust graphics. DO NOT OVER HEAT GRAPHICS! Before installation, keep the bike in the sun with temperature more than 20°C / 70ºF.

For installation you will need:

  • Spray bottle with water
  • Hair dryer or heat gun
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Small plastic squeegee (included)

Wash your hands. It is very important to have clean hands while you are preparing surface and working with graphics. Oily/dirty hands will reduce the ability of your graphics to adhere.

Preparing surface
Remove old graphics on plastic bodywork if needed. You can use hair dryer or heat gun to warm the old graphics for easy removal. Clean the surface with degreasing agent. You do not want to leave any glue residue from the old graphics, oils or dirt. Your bike plastics should be warm before applying graphics.

Wet Installation (Recommended)

1. Clean your plastics, hands, and work area. Remove dirt, oil, old adhesive, and anything else from the front and backside of your machine’s plastic.

2. Using a spray bottle, spray a fine mist of water on to the part of the bike you want to install first.

3. Remove the backing paper from your decal, and be sure to keep the adhesive side free of dirt, dust, and debris. Spray the adhesive side with a fine mist of water.

4. Lightly apply the decal to the plastic while lining up to edges of bodywork.

5. Once everything else is lined up properly, begin from the center, and use a squeegee to move the application fluid to the edge of the plastic.

6. As you continue the squeegee process, you may add mild heat with a heat gun or hairdryer in order to speed up the drying process. The heat will also help work out any bubbles and smooth any wrinkles.

Warning: Excessive heat will cause the decal to overstretch and distort the image.

7. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the excess fluid that is remaining around the edge of the plastic.

8. It is recommended that you do not ride your bike for at least 24 hours to ensure proper adhesion of the decal.

9. After 24 hours, look over the graphics for areas that may need heat to edges that may have lifted overnight.

Dry Installation (For the Pro's)

1. Clean your plastics, hands, and work area. Remove dirt, oil, old adhesive, and anything else from the front and back side of your bikes plastic.

2. Peel off half of the backing, being careful not to allow dust or debris to get on the adhesive side. Cut the backing down the center horizontally for side plates or vertically for front plates. Cut a half-inch strip from the removed half of the backing. Apply the remaining backing to graphic, lining it up with holes and edges.

3. Prevent the center strip from sticking while you align the graphic with the plastic. Once it’s properly lined up, apply the center strip of the graphic to the plastic.

4. Peel back the paper backing from one half, holding the graphic up and away from plastic. Slowly apply by sliding one finger back and forth along the graphic, pressing out any air bubbles and wrinkles. Heat may be applied with a heat gun or hairdryer during this process to help remove wrinkles and air bubbles.

Warning: Excessive heat will cause the decal to overstretch and distort the image.

5. Peel off the paper backing from the other half, and apply the graphic as described in step 4. Repeat instructions for all remaining graphics.
