We are big fans of removing your stock "OEM" plastics and putting them aside and installing a fresh set of aftermarket plastics to take the brunt of the abuse from track and trail use. We also recommend fresh plastics for best results from a new graphics kit. That smooth surface is ideal for making new graphics last a long time.
